3 Easy Steps to detox body, mind and makeup!

Happy New Year everyone! We trust you’ve had a lovely time catching up with friends and family and enjoying a bit of down time. The Christmas holidays can be a time of excess, but they’re also a great time to chill out, relax, spend time with loved ones; reflect on the year that’s been and plan the year ahead.

 

The start of the new year is a great time to re-evaluate your lifestyle. It’s time to think about being healthy of body and mind, and undertake a little detox – in all areas. This may seem daunting, but it’s not. Start small, with easy goals.

 

It’s as easy as 1,2,3.

◦ Lemon detox! One really super easy healthy tip to make you feel so much better very quickly, particularly after the festive season, is to simply resolve to drink a large cup or mug of warm or hot water with a slice of lemon every morning before you do anything else. It’s a brilliant liver detoxifier; great for digestion, metabolism and for clearing and brightening your skin. A little lemon goes a long way!


◦ Walk every day. Walking is pretty much the best regular exercise you can do. It gets your metabolism going, stretches your muscles, gets you into the open air and relaxes the mind. 30 mins before or after work or just put on your trainers and walk to work (or part of the journey – get off the train or bus a few stops before you normally do). The benefits of this very small adjustment can be huge.


◦ Sleep is Power. You feel so much better when you’ve had a good night’s sleep. Sleep regenerates body and mind. The more you have, the better you function – mentally and physically. It’s a simple as that. Try going to bed an hour earlier a few times a week. You will have more energy, less anxiety and more clarity.

 

    Makeup detox 1,2,3!

    1. Throw out anything from your makeup bag that’s been open for more than 12 months. You shouldn’t have anything that’s older than that. Especially mascara.

    2. Wash your makeup bag and give all your brushes a wash in warm soapy water or water with a few drops of tea tree or eucalyptus oil (they’re very good antibacterial agents). Resolve to do this once a month from now on.

    3. No more chemicals: Banish all those nasty toxic chemicals from your makeup bag. Resolve to use natural products that will not only make you look and feel better but will actually nourish your skin rather than harm it… simple is best. Choose products with the fewest ingredients possible: The fewer ingredients, the better the product will be for you.

      ¡Feliz Año Nuevo a todos! Esperamos que hayas pasado momentos increíbles con tus amigos y familiares y que hayas descansado un poco. Los festejos navideños son también época de excesos, pero también es tiempo de relajarse, descansar, pasar tiempo con los seres queridos, reflexionar sobre el año que se ha ido y hacer planes para el que viene.

       

      El comienzo de un nuevo año es un buen momento para reevaluar nuestro estilo de vida, tiempo de pensar en ser saludables de mente y cuerpo y de empezar una desintoxicación en todas las áreas. Puede parecer difícil pero no lo es, empieza con metas pequeñas.

       

      Desintoxica tu Cuerpo ¡en 1, 2, 3!

      1. Desintoxícate con limón- Un tip de salud súper fácil que te hará sentirte bien de forma muy rápida, en especial después de la temporada de celebraciones es simplemente tomar en ayunas cada mañana una taza de agua tibia o caliente con el jugo de medio limón. Es un excelente desintoxicante del hígado, es bueno para la digestión, el metabolismo y para aclarar la piel. ¡Un pequeño limón puede llevarte muy lejos!

       

      2. Camina todos los días. Caminar es el mejor ejercicio que puedes hacer, mantiene activo tu metabolismo, estira tus músculos, te hace estar al aire libre y despejar tu mente. Camina 30 minutos antes o después del trabajo, o simplemente ponte tus tenis y camina al trabajo (o parte del camino, baja del metro o autobús unas cuadras antes de lo que normalmente lo haces). Los beneficios de este pequeño cambio pueden ser enormes.

       

      3. Dormir es Poder. Te sientes mucho mejor cuando duermes bien, dormir regenera cuerpo y mente, mientras más lo haces, mejor funcionas, mental y físicamente. Tan simple como eso. Trata de irte a dormir una hora antes algunas veces por semana. Tendrás más energía, menos ansiedad y más claridad mental.

       

        Desintoxica tu Maquillaje ¡en 1, 2, 3!

        1. Tira cualquier producto que haya estado en tu cosmetiquera por más de 12 meses. No deberías tener nada que sobrepase ese tiempo, en especial la mascara.
        2. Lava tu cosmetiquera y tus brochas con agua tibia y jabón, o lávalas con agua y agrega unas cuantas gotas de aceite de Tea Tree o Eucalipto (son excelentes agentes antibacteriales). Decídete a hacerlo una vez al mes de ahora en adelante.
        3. No más químicos, elimina todos esos desagradables ingredientes tóxicos de tu cosmetiquera. Decídete a usar productos naturales que no sólo te harán verte y sentirte mejor, sino que también nutrirán tu piel en vez de dañarla, simplemente es mejor. Elige productos con la menor cantidad de ingredientes posibles. Mientras menos ingredientes tenga el producto mucho mejor para ti.
