Peach, Rose and Iced Coffee Combos - our pick of the latest from Pantone

Peach, Rose and Iced Coffee Combos - our pick of the latest from Pantone

The latest Pantone Colour Institute® Report describes the new palette as “A Transporting and Transformative Canvas”. Colours this season are intended to be unisex, transcending cultural and gender norms and giving a feeling of wellbeing and tranquility.

Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute says that “Colors this season transport us to a happier, sunnier place where we feel free to express a wittier version of our real selves”.

"With our culture still surrounded by so much uncertainty, we are continuing to yearn for those softer shades that offer a sense of calm and relaxation", she said

Influenced by the world of art, new global doors opening and the desire to disconnect from technology and unwind, designers this season have gravitated toward a palette that is calming and pays homage to the beauty of natural resources.

According to the Pantone, all the colours used are designed to help us achieve a more tranquil mindset, to encourage relaxation first, followed by curiosity and exploration.

'This season is all about being aware of our environment, using colours that truly represent the world we live in, both constructed and organic', say Pantone.

Diverse artistic influencers for this season's styles include Matisse, Picasso and Frank Stella to Esther Stewart and Sam Falls.

A Unisex Palette

Colors this season transcend cultural and gender norms and this season there is no perceivable distinction in color choices between the men’s and women’s collections.

Key Colours

Spring 2016 A Transporting and Transformative Canvas

Peach, Rose and Iced Coffee combo - the perfect subtle tones for all seasons

We especially love the pinks and iced coffee brown from the new season's colour palette. They're so great as beauty bag staples and foundation colours for a naturally beautiful look, both day and evening and for any season.

Here's what we've got in our beauty box for the following colours:

Rose Quartz - a persuasive yet gentle tone that conveys compassion and a sense of composure.

MATCH: Creative Chamomile Eye Shadow Duo - It's a Girl, Real Rosehip Oil Lipbar in Love, Clever Carrot Cheek + Lip Balm in Harmless.

Peach Echo - a shade that emanates friendlier qualities, evoking warmth and accessibility. It is an all-encompassing, tempered companion in the playful orange family.

MATCH: Pure Rice Powder Bronzer, Creative Chamomile Eye Shadow Duo - It's a Girl, Bondi Blush (use for blush or eyeshadow), Real Rosehip Oil Lipbar in Nude.

Iced Coffee - a transitional colour that manifests as another strong neutral for the season. With its natural earthy quality, softness and subtlety. A great foundation colour.

MATCH: Creative Chamomile Eye Shadow Duo - Without Clothes and/or Very Important, Pure Rice Powder - My Blush, Rich Olive Oil Lipstick Gala and Clever Carrot Balm in Healthy.

Add a splash of colour on top:

When you've got the basic foundation right, then add a splash of colour on top.

TIP: All our eye shadows can be mixed with Versatile Vanilla Highlighter in Falling Star to give them extra "pop"!

Green Flash - calls on its wearer to explore, push the envelope and escape the mundane, radiating an openness that combines with the rest of the palette in unexpected but serendipitous ways.

MIX to Match: Creative Chamomile Eye Shadow Due in Green & Grin darker shade with Versatile Vanilla Highlighter, Falling Star.

Lilac Gray - adds a distinctive edge to this classic gray shade. A great neutral.

MATCH: Real Rosehip Oil Lipbar in Hope mixed with a hint of the lighter shade of Creative Chamomile Eye Shadow Duo, Better than Smokey.

Fiesta - high energy, Fiesta is a harbinger of excitement, encouraging free-spirited exploration to unknown but welcoming locales and providing a stark contrast to the calming, softer nature of this season’s palette.

MATCH: Rich Olive Oil Lipstick in Fiesta (of course!)
