ere's mexican travel guide

Hola, dear readers!
I’m so happy to share a glimpse into my recent travels across the vibrant and diverse landscapes of Mexico. As someone who grew up in this beautiful country, each visit feels like a reunion with my roots—a chance to reconnect with the culture, history, and natural beauty that have shaped both my life and the Ere Perez brand. Join me as I take you through some of my favourite destinations, memorable moments, and, of course, beauty inspirations.

Monterrey Memories
Strolling through Monterrey, my hometown, felt like stepping back into my childhood. The scent of delicious street food and the vibrant energy of the markets brought back a flood of memories. This city is a blend of modernity and tradition making it a must-visit for anyone looking to experience the true essence of northern Mexico.

Hidden Gem: Santiago
Just a short trip from Monterrey lies Santiago, a small town that feels like a step back in time. With its charming colonial architecture and peaceful atmosphere, Santiago is a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Brimming with history, it’s a true gem that showcases the beauty of Mexico’s lesser-known destinations.

Tulum: Sun, Sand, and Soul
Our journey then took us to Tulum, where the Caribbean Sea meets powdery white sands and vibrant turquoise waters. Tulum is not just a beach destination; it’s a place to unwind and reconnect with nature. Watching the colourful sunsets with my family, I was reminded of how important it is to take a step back from our busy lives and embrace the joy of family, food, and sunshine!

Mexico City: A Cultural Odyssey
In Mexico City, history and modernity collide in the most beautiful way. Celebrating my daughter’s quinceañera here with friends and family was a highlight of our trip. We visited iconic must-see sites like the Zócalo main square, the Palacio de Bellas Artes, and the Frida Kahlo Museum. The Museo Nacional de Antropología left a deep impression on me, reminding me of our ancestors' wisdom and how understanding our past helps shape our future.

Oaxaca: A Feast for the Senses
From Mexico City, we embarked on a road trip to Oaxaca, a city known for its rich cultural heritage and incredible cuisine. The Monte Albán ruins transported us back to ancient times, while the city’s vibrant markets overflowed with colours, scents, and sounds. Sharing tlayudas—a massive corn tortilla made in the traditional pre-Hispanic way over an open flame—with loved ones was a culinary highlight. And of course, we had a night of dancing salsa at La Tentación nightclub - because what’s a trip to Mexico without a little fiesta?

Puebla: History and Majesty
Our final stop was Puebla City, where the majestic site of Popocatépetl volcano greeted us on our way.  We marvelled at the iconic painted steps in Atlixco Puebla, the city of flowers, and explored the historic Biblioteca Palafoxiana. And of course, we indulged in Puebla’s famous mole poblano, a rich and complex sauce that’s a must-try for any food lover.
