girl with a mission
At Ere Perez we believe in kindness and in giving back. We celebrate women around the world for their strength, diversity, beauty and talents. WOMEN RULE!
October 11 was International Day of the Girl, as recognised by the United Nations. Today, there are 1.1 billion girls around the globe. An average of 15 million girls marry before the age of 18 yearly; every 10 minutes, a teenage girl dies as a result of violence; and 130 million girls between the ages of 6 and 17 are not in school. We have a long-standing relationship with Misión México. Misión México is a charity in Tapachula, Mexico, that provides refuge for children in need. They provide a loving, secure home for children of all ages who have been abused, neglected, orphaned or abandoned. the Ere Perez brand is proud to contribute financially to Misión México, in support of the amazing work they do.
This month, we were so excited to meet Maria, a girl who came to Mision Mexico after a childhood that was not easy. After her mother passed away, Maria was put into the care of a family who neglected her and forced her to work as an unpaid domestic worker in terrible conditions. Maria escaped and has since been placed in a loving family where she has been nurtured for 17 years.
Maria visited the Ere Perez office to share her inspiration story of survival and hope. We loved meeting her! We went with Maria to the Sculptures by the Sea exhibition in Bondi and also had a fun photoshoot to celebrate her natural beauty and spirit. Maria’s story is testament to the power of women and the amazing things that happen when people act for good. If you would like to support girls like Maria, please consider donating to Misión México.
MARIA you are AMAZING!
For Maria’s photoshoot, we pampered her with our natural skincare and makeup:
We can all make a difference in the world. Together we can help girls to overcome hardship and disadvantage, celebrate the gifts they have to offer and inspire the future generations!
