Danielle shares with us her advice for a healthy and conscious lifestyle.
Once I read “Beauty is a reflection of your inner self” ... It took me some years to realize this, only after having gone through different sizes and weight fluctuations, mainly after my children were born.
The word “diet” never had great importance within my vocabulary and unhealthy lifestyle. I felt defeated: I accepted the idea that your metabolism changes after your 30s (when even water makes you feel bloated) and that I will never have the energy I used to have before… For me it was part of being "mom".
But the fact was, my inner self didn’t feel good either and this was projected in the mirror and in front of others.
I understood that a healthy inside is not only related to a well-functioning organism and a healthy body, it also has to do with our thoughts, our attitude towards life, having a purpose, doing what we love and... happiness! A woman who smiles, an authentic, healthy and fulfilled woman, is a beautiful woman. I’m 40 and I’m mother of two but people almost always doubt my age… And when I tell them the truth, that I am 40 and I feel better than ever.
So when I hear the word diet (when it’s related to calories and food restrictions) I have an internal struggle, because actually, diets don’t work. When you’re following a diet that you cannot sustain over time, there is usually a bounce effect. Some diets are not even healthy at all. The only thing that really works is a healthy, conscious lifestyle and to follow lasting and sustainable habits. Here are some:
Remember that eating healthy is a form of self-respect and self-love. When you have a healthy diet you improve your mental clarity, you’re more focused and have more energy… In this way you’re more conscious, and in this way it’s easier to attract what you want in life.
When you smile, you feel complete, and that's what others see. I guarantee that it’s possible to find balance even in our busy lifestyles. It’s all about committing to what we love, doing what we’re passionate about and prioritizing our objectives.
Stay active: exercise is essential, and it has immediate positive effects on physical and mental health; it increases the production of endorphins so that you feel happier & more comfortable with your body. Sleep at least 6 hours a night, proper sleep reduces aging and stress. Use natural products for your skin: besides being good for you, they’re friendly to the environment! The skin is the largest human organ and it has an incredible capacity of absorption (60% of what we apply in our body is absorbed) and it’s also responsible for the elimination of toxins… So, eating healthy and avoiding toxic products is vital. Remember that skin reflects your health. Meditate and smile… Adversities will always exist; the difference is how you face them. And don’t forget that a smile will always be the best way to introduce yourself anywhere.
