your skincare routine: how much and in what order
Let's talk skincare.
It’s important to note that you do not need a 7 step skincare routine. You can achieve positive changes to your skin with as little as 3 products. Cleanse, treat and moisturise.
Dealing with dry skin, ensure you’re adding extra hydration. Dealing with breakouts? Focus on acne fighting ingredients.
It is one thing finding the right skincare products for your skin type, but it’s another thing knowing how much of those products to use and in what order.
Building a routine can be overwhelming, so once you finally know what ingredients and products work for your skin type, the key is to apply them all in the right order, and even where to add them into your existing routines.
Pressing the right amount into the skin ensures your complexion truly benefits from all the wonderful ingredients.
What order should I apply my skincare?
Should we apply serums before or after your moisturiser? Where your products sit in your routine depends entirely on the texture & their ingredients. Not all oils are the same. They each have a different chemical structure & molecular weight.

3. Treat/serum

3. Face mask/oil/treatment

As an example, we recommend using our lightweight Australian Blue Cypress Face Nectar as a treatment. That means applying it BEFORE your moisturiser, not after!
Our Australian Blue Cypress Face Nectar contains jojoba and grape seed oil which are very light. They mimic the texture of our skin's sebum, helping to rebuild the lipid layer, & absorb into skin fast. Applying this before your moisturiser will offer many more benefits from these botanicals.
Don’t forget to apply your eye cream before too!
Just like the Queen of skincare herself Caroline Hirons says, “applying your eye cream last is like wearing your knickers over your trousers!”
But just because we recommend our Ere Perez serum/oils be applied before your moisturiser, it doesn't mean that all treatments should be applied in this order! You can contact our amazing customer service team if you have any routine-related questions.
Remember, no two serums are the same!
So how much skincare do I apply?
Skincare products come in a variety of packaging options; tubes, jars, pipettes, pots, which can make it hard to know how much of each we should be using!
Applying the right amount of skincare is essential to get the best out of your products. If you’re not getting the results you want, consider if you’re using too little or even too much.
