check them all: breast cancer awareness month
Be Brave, So Brave!
Self-exploration is so important in the fight for Breast Cancer. According to Cancer Australia, 1 in 7 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.
In the month of October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month provides an opportunity for us all to focus on the “C word” and its impact on those affected by breast cancer here in Australia, and around the world.
Finding Breast Cancer early provides the best chance of surviving the disease. Become familiar with the normal look and feel of your breasts. You don’t need to be an expert or use a special technique to check your breasts and armpits. Big or small, check them all!
Look for changes in the mirror. Observe and feel the shape, size, or surface of the skin. Cop a feel & look out for any of these warning signs:
🌸 a new lump in your breast or underarm (armpit)
🌸 thickening or swelling of part of your breast
🌸 irritation of your breast skin
🌸 redness or discharge
🌸 any change in the size or shape of your breast
🌸 pain in any area of your breast
When it comes to your health, as always we recommend seeking advice from your health professional, first and foremost.
